Brown Farm is Hiring for Harvest help! We are a small diversified cut flower farm in Scotland CT. We sell our blooms directly to florists through the CT Flower Collective.
We have one position open for May and June (potential for into July), mornings from 8AM to Noon Monday through Friday. Pay is $16-$18 per hour depending on experience.
Duties / Requirements of employee
- HARVEST (main task)
- Quickly learn/identify/differentiate flowers (Species and Varieties)
- Tolerate my sailor-mouth
- Be able to correctly label and bunch flowers for florists
- Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Wash buckets (Clean buckets are a love language for flower farmers!)
- Comfortable with monotonous (“zen”) tasks
- Weeding/mulch spreading/compost spreading
- No need to know how to operate heavy machinery – will be using mostly hand-scale tools
